Financial Controller at CanWest Mechanical
A rare opportunity has arisen with this successful, locally owned and operated business, for a Financial Controller. This newly created role will oversee the financial operations for this growing Vancouver Island construction and fabrication company.

CanWest Mechanical can be found in Fanny Bay, just south of the Comox Valley, on Vancouver Island. The Financial Controller is a newly created position at CanWest Mechanical, and will be a key member of the Leadership Team, reporting to the Vice President. The Controller will be responsible for managing all financial operations of the company, offering strategic advice to the owners, and providing reports on financial status. The long range vision is that this role will eventually become a CFO, offering the right candidate an opportunity for career growth and development. The position will be responsible for two direct reports in the Accounting department. Key responsibilities will include:
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years experience in accounting, including leadership responsibilities, and a CPA or CMA designation. We are looking for an energetic individual who has the ability to think strategically, and enjoys the opportunity to innovate and solve problems as a key member of a decision-making team. Candidates must be able to design and create a process for accounting, as well as maintain systems meticulously.
